Balafons in the Schools
There are approximately 100 schools in Dagaraland and it is our hope to supply each and every school with a pair of balafons.  So far Zangala has been able to gift over 30 sets of balafons to the schools.   We also are supporting student balafon programs and have included a student part of the annual music festival in Dano.  Each set of balafons is also built by a balafon maker living in the village of the school.  Local communities are very involved and actively requesting that their school be included in this program.  Please help us out by making a gift of $100 - which will pay for a set of balafons for a school!  Please send an email following your donation indicating your desire for your donation to be used in this way.  Barka!

Dagara Village
We are also hoping to raise funds for our Dagara Village project.  At this time the most pressing costs involve finding the huge timbers needed to form the backbone of these massive structures.  Thankfully, all timber that is harvested now is under the control of the environmental ministry.  This helps protect against deforestation, an important issue to keep in check, but also drives the price of this necessary wood quite high.  We need your help.  Please pledge $150 to help purchase the timbers for a Zangala!  In total we expect over 25 clans to participate and need this kind of help.  Please send an email following your donation indicating your desire for your donation to be used in this way.  Barka!
